The Erinvale Country Estate & Golf Club
is privileged to be situated in the bowl of the Lourens Valley ,
some 45km to the east of Cape Town , one of the most beautiful cities
in the world. It nestles at the foot of the majestic Hottentots
Holland mountain range and is surrounded by such famous Estates
as Vergelegen, Morgenster, Fleur Du Cap and Lourensford.
As a residential golf estate, it not only offers one of the best
golf courses in Southern Africa, but also a secure and tranquil
lifestyle. Over the past 11 years since its inception, the estate
has matured and the course has developed into a plush green haven
with many views that astound the golfer as they tee off on the various
holes. The residents who live on the Estate are from many countries
- amongst others Irish, English, Dutch, German and South African
- and live harmoniously in this secluded valley in Somerset West.
Erinvale is run by the home owners - many of whom have had years
of corporate experience behind them which results in a smoothly
run estate.
Early 2007, the Erinvale Golf Club was voted 'a 5* golf
experience'. This prestigious award was granted not only
for the beautiful course, but for the service and attitude of
both the staff and residents which make a visit here an unforgettable
experience.
The 18 hole golf course was designed by Gary Player, one of South
Africa's most distinguished golfers, and a great deal of care
has been taken to ensure that the natural environment is continually
enhanced. Gary Player had this to say at the time
"As you play through the back nine holes, you climb dramatically
up the mountain to enjoy the spectacular view. The sea in the
distance and the many wineries for which the Cape is famous are
further attractions. Once all the trees mature, I think this will
be one of the best golf courses in South Africa ."
